I am a Certified Diabetes Educator.  Over the course of my career, I have found that less than half the people diagnosed with Diabetes have not received any formal Diabetes self-management education.  Most people, who could benefit from Diabetes education, do not know that Diabetes education is most often covered by their insurance carrier, this includes Medicare.

Diabetes Management

Let's work together.

Don't go it alone.

You can do it!

I will show you how.

Learn how to reduce your risk of Diabetes complications by keeping your blood glucose and blood pressure levels in check, making better food choices, increasing activity, maintaining a healthy body weight and taking medications properly.  All these proactive steps will work together to reduce the risks of complications

Understand how Diabetes medications work.  If you are being treated for type 2 Diabetes, you may be taking pills or insulin or a combination of both.  Diabetes education will provide the information to understand the difference between medications, when to take them, what they do and potential side effects.

Blood Glucose readings are more than a number.  Blood Glucose monitoring lets you know if your Diabetes management plan is working.  You can determine which foods raise your blood glucose levels and make changes accordingly.  You will learn about blood glucose meters (including Continuous Glucose Meters) choice and selection, timing and frequency of testing, target values and interpretation of results.
